DevLog #8 - Time To... Polish


This is it, no more new features...

We've now reached the end of our Production phase, which means we won't be adding any more features. We will only be improving the ones we have, don't worry. we got most of them in!

The Visuals

Let's have a look at the visuals! These will only be slightly improving in Polish phase as we finish the lighting and add some of that good stuff people call... Post Processing!


The Getaway

Oh yeah, we've changed the getaway vehicle a bit. It is less block-y, I would think. Why not take a view?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, it is a helicopter now. No more vroom vroom.

Sound! (Quack quack!)

We've added the base setup for sound, not everything has sound (yet), but the core is there to easily add it to existing parts of the game.

Mechanics

Smarter cops

Before, you could cheese the game by blocking the cops behind their own blockade, but they're smarter now. No more fooling the Quackmeister.

Off-Screen Detection

We've changed the detection slightly and it will now detect the slacking players, so you better get back destroying or you'll be caught.

Increasing Difficulty

We all know you like to relax, but some of you like hard-ass game, I present to you... Destruction Souls. The new Destruction Souls-like game. Cops will chase you faster and faster until you cannot destroy anymore. Run Forrest RUN! (Oh and... those doors sure do get reinforced.)

What next?

The upcoming weeks we will be polishing the game, which means we'll be destroying some nasty bugs and balance some high-tech numbers inside our beautiful (eh ehm... messy) code. Stay tuned as you'll soon have the final version with you!
